The cork used in the Zone by Lydia yoga mats is ethically sourced from Portugal, which is the world's largest cork producer. The mats are made from cork leather and natural rubber, with a high-temperature machine used to adhere the layers without glues or harsh chemicals. The brand's founder directly engages with partners to ensure safe working conditions, as seen in her recent visit to Pakistan. Additionally, the brand collaborates with Hemp Fortex to source premium quality hemp fabric under strict environmental and ethical certifications. The brand also emphasises transparency and education in sharing information about their manufacturing processes and material origins with customers.
Zone yoga products, including the Zone by Lydia range, are made from sustainable materials like cork and hemp and are plastic-free to further promote environmental consciousness. Cork is a 100% renewable and recyclable material, harvested from cork oak trees without any harm done to the trees themselves. This sustainable harvesting method allows for the cork to grow back stronger and thicker, benefitting the environment by retaining carbon dioxide. Cork trees are also beneficial in preventing soil erosion and can sustain themselves in dry climates due to their water storage capabilities.

Incredibly supportive and comfortable to practice on, this mat has a design that is both beautiful but also non-assuming and more gentle on the eye with the natural shades. I love the feel of having a natural material (cork) on my hands and feet that doesn’t create any static or plastic-like smells. Super easy to clean, durable, of high quality, and a generous size, this mat is an excellent investment piece for any serious student or teacher of yoga. Using only sustainable materials that will go back kindly into the earth after the mats long life, this product comes in all-natural, plastic-free, compostable packaging. Truly environmentally friendly, with a cork upper and a natural rubber base the mat gives a sense of connection to the earth.

This yoga mat is incredibly heart-stirring due to the love, energy and intention artwork. Sometimes I just lay on this mat in Savasana on my lounge room floor, and it supports me to feel connected to my heart and to life.
