Touché offers a vegan, ethical alternative to silk using all-natural eucalyptus. Unlike traditional mulberry silk where silkworms are killed in the process of making the silk, this fabric is 100% cruelty free. The eucalyptus fibres are ethically and sustainably grown by Austrian textile company Lenzing AG and the fabric is woven and sewn in China. The brand is committed to work only with cut and sew factories that are certified by globally recognised ethical third party auditors including BSCI, WRAP and SEDEX.
Sustainable
Touché’s vegan silk is spun from TENCEL™ Lyocell fibres that are sustainably harvested from eucalyptus trees. TENCEL™ fibre is considered to be one of the most sustainable materials in the world, with Lenzing creating a closed-loop process where 99% of water and solvents are recycled and reused. TENCEL™ Lyocell is 10x more sustainable than cotton and has been certified as biodegradable and compostable, thus can fully revert back to nature. The brand produces products in small batches to protect the environment and use non-toxic, eco-friendly AVITERA® reactive dyes which drastically reduce water and energy use by up to half. Their postal packaging is also 100% compostable.
