Made in New Zealand, the products are sustainably harvested and 100% biodegradable. Sans is cruelty-free, avoiding animal testing, pollutants, hype, excess, waste and elitism, providing a vision of a better way to live through better products that make people feel better about themselves and contribute to a better world.
Sans Ceuticals has achieved Climate Positive organisational certification from the Toitū Envirocare, a New Zealand government entity. The brand takes science-led, meaningful climate action for a decarbonised future. From design to delivery, Sans minimises packaging to reduce waste and uses PET, the most energy-efficient and easily recycled plastic, for its bottles. The brand also uses solid colours for bottles to protect active ingredients from UV light, vegetable-based inks for print materials, sustainably harvested and biodegradable ingredients and renewable energy to power its operations. Additionally, the carbon footprint of all shipments is offset.
Sans Ceuticals partners with local and international charities, such as the Breast Cancer Foundation, the NZ Arts Foundation and the Wetlands NZ Trust. The brand invests in team education through workshops as needed and offers flexible hours for its mostly female employees. They prioritise team health by providing vegetarian lunches prepared by the founder and stock their kitchen with essentials for overall well-being. Additionally, Sans Ceuticals advocates for issues related to their industry, uses sustainable materials in their products and packaging and implements practices to reduce their carbon footprint and waste, including in-studio food composting.

I can’t wait until there are refills. Huge props to their website which is so information-rich and shares all you need to know about ingredient and packaging transparency. The brand’s values shine through every corner of this business – where the ingredients used (and the ones not used) are as equally important to the ethical, sustainable and socially responsible efforts made. I also appreciated where the packaging is minimal to reduce waste, printing material uses vegetable based inks and powered by renewable energy – big ticks!
