Ethical
Rustic Maka utilize ingredients that have been minimally processed and are as close to their natural state as possible. The company engages with vendors about the quality standards of each ingredient and their sourcing, asking whether is is plant-based, cruelty free, free of phthalates and synthetics, free of GMOs, manufacturing process, country of origin, is it sustainably sourced and how the use of ingredients may affect countries where ingredients are harvested? Rustic Maka products are manufactured in the US using local and global ingredients.
Sustainable
BPA-free, recyclable containers and biodegradable shipping peanuts are used. Rustic Maka works with local retailers to collect shipping packaging for reuse in their warehouse and all supplier packaging is also reused. Furthermore they are committed to transition by 2024 to containers made with 50% less plastic, PCR plastic and/or recyclable paper cardboard. These new containers will feature post-consumer recycled plastic that is both recycled and recyclable.

Over the years Rustic Maka has supported the following local, national and international charities through financial donations: Angles of Hope, Five Points of Hope, Homeless Angels, Enchanted Makeovers, National Wheelchair Basketball Association, Rejoyceful Animal Rescue, Bunny’s Buddies, Epilepsy Foundation, Not Abandoned and Scarlet’s Smile to name just a few.

This is a clever deodorant in that it contains two different scented layers – both smelling divine. I found it functionally very impressive, especially given it is a sensitive deodorant, and it has got me through many a workout still smelling nice! In 2024, the brand will be moving to containers made from recycled plastic as well as being recyclable, which is fantastic! I also really appreciate how Rustic Maka contributes to both their local and global communities.
