Ethical
QED Skincare products are formulated using safe, effective, plant-based, natural ingredients free of parabens, sulfates, and formaldehyde, and suitable for vegans. No ingredients are animal-derived or tested on animals and they source ingredients from cruelty-free audited suppliers with ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems in place. Australian-grown ingredients are used where possible and personal relationships have been established with the growers. QED products are manufactured and packaged in-house in Sydney and do not use organic ingredients to keep costs down for customers. Common fillers are also excluded from QED products, and products are manufactured in small batches to ensure consistency of quality.
Sustainable
QED has a strong commitment to sustainability, with its products made from biodegradable plant oils and free from palm oil and micro-beads. The brand has removed mixed-material packaging and tissue in favour of a multi-use natural honey-comb wrap that can also serve as gift packaging. They only use glass, aluminium, or easily recyclable PET for their packaging and use cotton reusable bags for in-store gift-wrapping. The brand's delivery processes are also eco-friendly, using compostable mailers.
Responsible
QED prioritises social responsibility and supports women and children through various initiatives. The brand has worked with charities such as the Royal Hospital for Women Foundation, The Cancer Council and The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, as well as local schools and community organizations. QED donates products to conventions for parents of children with chronic illnesses and provides self-care products to a local women's shelter for International Women's Day. The brand partners with i=change to donate $1 from every sale to support charities focused on cancer patients, protecting women, and supporting mental health.

This balm is like butter. It’s so lovely, with an almost whipped texture like frosting, it’s entirely fragrance and scent free and glides right onto and into the skin. It melts and disperses very quickly into the skin and leaves a pleasantly non-greasy finish. I used it as a face treatment, makeup remover, lip balm, deep moisturizer and it worked a treat for all applications. It feels like even the most sensitised skin could handle this balm. The sleek white pot also looks fantastic sitting on the bathroom benchtop.

It came with minimal packaging, which was wonderful – Less to throw in the bin! They use only three types of packaging, all of which are easily recyclable or reusable and it’s wonderful that they are palm-oil free. Like last year, I’m really pleased that their charitable efforts are mostly directed towards women and children.
