Clean Ingredients / Materials
Made from excellent, clean ingredients.
Pyewackets Traditional sources ingredients locally from organic farmers and growers in Northern NSW for their handmade products. They prioritise using fresh roots and herbs to maintain potency and honor herbal medicine traditions. The brand supports small local businesses by making labels locally and they avoid using colours, flavors, additives or lab-made extracts in their products. Additionally, Pyewackets Traditional does not use heat or chemical pasteurization in their production process.
Pyewackets Traditional prioritises sustainability by using home compostable, biodegradable or recyclable packaging materials in all orders to eliminate single-use plastic. They reuse incoming and collected boxes for wholesale orders, encourage customers to re-use or upcycle bottles before recycling, collect and sterilize empty bottles for reuse, compost fruit pulp and herb waste, and minimise ingredient waste in their manufacturing process. Their bitters have a long shelf life and one small bottle can provide up to 50 serves, making their packaging usage very efficient.
Pyewackets Traditional donates 1% of total revenue as 'Pay the rent' to first nations owned, led and run organisations and charities, with recipients rotating quarterly. They also donate products to local raffles, fundraisers, schools, charities and community organisations, as well as local arts events held at the Northern Rivers Community Gallery. Additionally, they released a special limited edition flavour of shrub last year with all profits going towards a fundraiser for a cancer patient.

I love the locally sourced, real ingredients that are used to make these shrubs. They make it so easy to have a natural spritz that is natural, refreshing and special. I love the commitment towards sourcing and giving life to the “uglier” fruit that might otherwise be discarded, working with local farmers and manufacturing with integrity and zero waste! The 1% donated towards First Nations organisations is also a big tick.

I love that its a low sugar, fermented, unpasteurised beverage (and a great alternative to alcohol). It’s so great that there are no added preservatives, additives or sugar. I also love that it was packed without plastic. I love everything about Pyewackets ethical, sustainable and social responsibility efforts. They tick so many boxes (too many to list really) including the important work of reducing food waste, investing in local, sustainable farming practices and also stellar manufacturing processes. I love that this is a concentrate, therefore reducing shipping costs and single use plastics compared to a single use bottle. I also love the longer shelf life.

Oh, wow! I love everything about this product—the vintage charm, the beautiful bottle, and the story on the label. And the taste is incredible! Add it to sparkling or still water for a delicious, healthy and sophisticated drink. I’m already planning my first “mocktail” party. This company truly stands out with their heartfelt and authentic approach. Their handmade products, commitment to sustainability and dedication to social responsibility make them exceptional in every way.
