No Nasties Kids ensures ethical practices by sourcing mica from reputable suppliers in China to avoid child labor, avoiding sales avenues that require animal testing and manufacturing all products in Australia by a team of mums with flexible work hours.
No Nasties Kids made significant sustainability efforts in 2023 by introducing cardboard makeup packaging to replace PET recyclable plastic containers, despite the higher cost. They also purchased machinery to oversee the manufacturing process and ensure only verified ingredients are used. They created new packaging designs to reduce waste, reused cardboard boxes and brown paper tape for shipping, replaced plastic makeup sponges with bamboo and made their makeup ingredients all natural, with compostable packaging and recyclable aluminum pans.
No Nasties Kids has been sponsoring 2 children through PLAN International for over 4 years and an Australian child through The Smith Family for the past 2 years. They also send boxes of products for women and children to a shelter every Christmas. Additionally, they hire two mothers locally who require flexible hours and have few job opportunities on the Sunshine Coast. One of their employees was living below the poverty line before being hired 3 years ago and has since purchased a property. The brand has prioritised keeping their team employed even when facing financial struggles.

Product arrived in perfect condition, which can be especially difficult being a pressed makeup. Beautifully packed in a little make up bag, my daughter is in love with this make up set. The colours are absolutely gorgeous and they wash off the skin easily. The addition of the little makeup brushes and sponges is awesome! We have had hours and hours of fun make up play! LOVE! Love that the makeup is formulated with clean ingredients, it takes the worry away of what my children are putting on their skin. I also love everything this business stands for and love to see that they employ local mums too!

My little girl (6) is honestly obsessed with this – it is perfect for play make up, we really like the fun packaging and to her it feels real! It works well enough on the skin that she sees something and feels like she can copy mum but it is also not so bright and prominent that she looks like she is wearing a full face of makeup – which I love! I love the move to no plastic containers, the bamboo handle brush and the keepsake bag being a nice thick canvas. I was also impressed by their commitment to sourcing sustainable MICA, the move towards the cardboard tubing over the plastic and the fact this is Australian owned and made.
