They independently purchase threads and conduct quality control checks on each product before sending them out to customers. They guarantee the longevity of their products, with a minimum of 250 uses, to reduce over-manufacturing and environmental impact. The brand's custom weaves provide faster results in the shower compared to traditional Hammam exfoliators, aimed at minimising water waste. Additionally, all Mitten products are 100% biodegradable.
Mitten focuses on sustainability by using 100% recyclable and biodegradable packaging for their products. They also use biodegradable postal satchels and minimise electricity use by producing their products on ancient looms. The textures of their products are 100% natural and biodegradable and they only work with Australian freight companies that have a National Carbon Offset Standard program to reduce their environmental footprint. The brand ensures longevity of their products, guaranteeing a minimum of 250 uses to reduce over-manufacturing and environmental impact. Additionally, they have designed their products to be efficient, requiring only 1-3 minutes in the shower compared to traditional exfoliators that take longer and have a shorter lifespan. All dyes used are plant-based to further minimise environmental impact.
Mitten is based in Australia and runs all of its operations within the country. They support the Good Friday Appeal annually and work with small communities, particularly in Disability and Age Care, to donate products with minor faults. Mitten has a 100% Recycle, Reduce and Reuse policy and encourages their staff to donate blood and volunteer within the community. They also raise awareness and funds for various charities, such as conducting an Earthquake Appeal for Turkey. Additionally, they partner with charities to donate a portion of sales towards planting trees and are in the process of automating this to provide certificates to customers.

The mitten effortlessly removes dead skin cells and is so easy to use thanks to the design, which prevents the mitten from falling off mid-use and allows you to hang it up in the shower. The black colour of the exfoliator means it always looks brand new! I also love that Mitten products are made in Turkey on ancient looms, which require minimal electricity and all of their products are 100% biodegradable. The brand even uses 100% biodegradable postal satchels – go team!
