Clean Ingredients / Materials
Made from excellent, clean ingredients.
Madame Tiger has established a longstanding relationship with a female farming collective in Burkina Faso, West Africa called Mousso Faso, purchasing their entire harvest since 2020 for a fair price to support their growth. The collective's harvest has increased from 6 tons to 60 tons over the years. The brand uses olive oil instead of canola or sunflower oil, organic demerara sugar and manufactures tiger nut milk in Carrum Downs before bottling it in Ballarat.
Madame Tiger measures their climate footprint through Carbon Cloud and has a low footprint of 0.32kg of CO2e per liter. Tiger nuts, their main ingredient, only require rainwater to grow. The water usage to produce 1kg of tiger nuts is 387L, much lower than almonds (over 16,000L), oats (2,500L) and soy beans (over 2,000L). Madame Tiger is dedicated to sustainability, as shown through their commitment to environmentally friendly practices.
Madame Tiger prioritises ethical sourcing as a core part of their social responsibility. Rather than purchasing tiger nut paste from a large multinational company, they took the initiative to establish a processing facility and source tiger nuts directly from the Mousso Faso collective. This decision has not only supported the growth of the collective's farming efforts but has also led to significant increases in their production, from 6 tons in 2020 to an expected 60 tons in 2024. Additionally, Madame Tiger supports charities such as Give A Fork, Foodbank and Bendigo Food Share through product donations.

I love the taste and the use of the tiger nut. I also love that olive oil has been used and no seed oils. Huge tick from me. I love they are concerned about their climate impact and are working towards reducing their carbon footprint. I also love they are working with female farming groups.

I love the exotic vibe of this brand and product! The packaging is bright, colourful and tiger-themed of course! Using Tiger Nuts is sustainably smart as they only require rainwater to grow. In addition, the root vegetables (aka tiger nuts) are nutritionally impressive and delicious. You simply have to give this one a go! Madame Tiger truly cares about sustainability – from the toilet paper they use in the office all the way through to measuring their carbon and water footprints. I also love that the brand sources organic tiger nuts directly from a female farming collective in Africa.

I found this nut milk and variety really quite tasty. I added it to almost everything and it didn’t overpower the overall taste. It was also good being educated about what they were as I never had heard about tiger nuts in the past I was impressed by the choice of olive oil over others. Sourcing by local means and thus supporting the local community of this West African area is amazing! I also enjoyed reading about the sustainable way they measure their carbon footprint giving back to these important charities.
