Loom Towels produces limited-edition collections to sustain generations of weaving culture in Southern Turkey, with each collection consisting of approximately 150 of each item. The production process involves twisting chosen threads to create thickness, using newspaper to prevent humidity affecting the cotton, hand-threading shuttle-looms, hand-looming and hand-finishing fringes and tassels. The brand prioritises sustainability, fair-trade practices and high-quality materials such as G.O.T.S certified organic cotton and natural linen threads sourced in Turkey. Packaging is eco-friendly, including recycled brown paper bags and tissue paper, recycled shipping boxes and biodegradable satchels.
Loom prioritises quality over quantity, believing in longevity. The towels made on the loom using a looping technique invented by Ottoman weavers in the late 17th century are known for their durability, lasting for at least 20 years even with modern washing machines and dryers. This focus on quality and craftsmanship ensures that Loom Towels' products are built to last, reflecting their commitment to sustainability.
Loom provides towels for charity events and local school fundraisers, supports woman employees aged 25-61 and is an active member of the community group High Street Armadale. The brand has been working with the same weavers since its establishment in 2011, despite facing challenges such as increasing costs, COVID-19 and high inflation in Turkey.

I love that these towels are traditionally made with shuttle looms! As a product designed to be used intimately against your body, I value that the towels are made of organic cotton.
