Clean Ingredients / Materials
Made from merino wool: 96.5% and Hemp: 3.5%.
Lindner Quality Socks are produced using vintage machinery by 10th generation sock maker Andrew Lindner at their factory in Crookwell, NSW. The socks are separated and overlocked by hand by the production team at the same factory. The labels for the socks are made from kraft card and post-consumer recycled stock, printed by Revolution Print in Victoria. The merino wool for the 'Echidna' socks is sourced locally in NSW and Western Australia, with a portion of the wool from NSW being non-mulsed. All wool sourced from Western Australia is non-mulesed. Additionally, the hemp sliver used in the socks is sourced from the UK through World of Wool and spun in Victoria by Bendigo Woollen Mills.
Lindner is focused on reducing their environmental impact by using natural, sustainable fibers such as Merino and Hemp in their products, specifically in their compostable 'Echidna' and 'Wombat' socks. They also ensure their packaging is eco-friendly, with plastic-free recyclable labels, compostable satchels, recyclable cardboard boxes and paper packaging tape. Additionally, they provide a reusable calico bag for storage and are working towards a 100% local supply process to further reduce their carbon footprint and support Australian jobs.
Lindner demonstrates social responsibility by supporting community events and projects financially, such as tree planting events and actively participating in local volunteer organisations like the Rural Fire Service and Landcare.

This product ticks all of the boxes when it comes to natural material use. It is also wonderful that it’s made by a 10th generation craftsman! The fact that this product can be composted at the end of life and that the brand focuses on standards that look after animal welfare in the supply chain is also to be commended.

The tradition and heritage of a 10th-generation sock maker – it’s artisanal and a lovely story. Love the feeling of the hemp merino blend! Love the idea of sustainable fibres in socks and the fact that they’re all hand done and using vintage machines. Very special.

The Lindner Echidna Socks are a classic design. I love that they’re traditionally knitted on vintage machines. They keep my toes toasty warm! I also love that the Echidna socks are made entirely with natural fibres!
