Kissing Chickens is an Australian-owned and run brand that manufactures all of its products in Australia. The founders, who are registered nurses with over 20 years of experience in the health industry, use only natural ingredients in their products. Inspired by their love for their chicken sanctuary in North Queensland, the brand is committed to being kind to people, the planet and animals. As a vegan company, owned and run by vegan women, all of Kissing Chickens' products are certified vegan by Vegan Australia.
Kissing Chickens has created a sustainable deodorant tube made completely from cardboard, eliminating the need for plastic. Each tube lasts 2 months, meaning only 6 tubes are needed for a 12-month supply. The brand also offers free shipping on 3 tubes, allowing customers to only order and ship twice a year for a full year's worth of deodorant. All deliveries are made using cardboard plain boxes and paper labels, further showcasing the brand's commitment to sustainability.
Kissing Chickens produces a paste deodorant and is set to release a stick deodorant called Scent of Kindness. Originally created as a Christmas Fundraiser for chicken sanctuaries in Australia, the product became so popular that production has continued. $1 from each tin sold is donated to chicken sanctuaries across Australia, with the long-term goal of purchasing a larger property to expand the animal sanctuary to accommodate more chickens and other animals in need. The brand aims to integrate the running of the sanctuary and business at the same location, providing work and accommodation for women aged 50 and above who are facing financial struggles or unsafe living conditions.

I absolutely loved this deodorant, especially the Lemon Myrtle scent. It’s so invigorating and fresh, making each application a delightful experience. The deodorant itself is highly effective, crafted with organic ingredients that are gentle on the skin. I appreciate that it’s free from irritants and harmful chemicals, reflecting a commitment to both personal and environmental health. The convenient mini tin packaging is also a great touch, making it easy to carry around. Overall, this deodorant combines amazing fragrance with thoughtful formulation, which is why it stood out to me so much. I think this brand is truly exceptional for several reasons. It’s Australian owned and operated, with all manufacturing done locally, ensuring high-quality standards and supporting the local economy. As registered nurses with over 20 years in the health industry, the founders have developed a product that is kind to our bodies, the planet and animals. Their deep commitment to ethical practices is evident in their vegan, cruelty-free products, certified by Vegan Australia. I love their innovative approach to packaging, using completely plastic-free, biodegradable cardboard tubes that last for two months, reducing waste significantly. Beyond their product line, the brand’s dedication to animal welfare is inspiring—they run a chicken sanctuary in North Queensland and donate $1 from every tin sold to other sanctuaries across Australia. This brand is not just about great products; it’s about making a meaningful impact!

This is a simple, no-fuss deodorant that smells great, is ergonomically-shaped and so easy to apply. The packaging stands out just by being more compressed than the round tubes and at the end of use, it can go into the recycling! This is another great example where the brand is thinking holistically: environmentally-friendly, community-minded and sustainable. I do also love how their initiative has the potential to provide employment and accommodation for both humans and animals.
