Sustainable
Eden Orchards is focused on creating unique, nutritious products while reducing waste and supporting sustainable growing practices. They have processed over 1.3 million kilograms of cherries that were destined for landfill or disposal and are increasing production by over 50% annually to reduce waste in the cherry industry. They also analyse their own bi-products and explore new opportunities to utilise them, such as developing a cherry puree and drying cherry stones for use as an alternative heat-storing material. The brand uses environmentally friendly materials and processes to reduce waste and their carbon footprint. They have also supported local farmers using sustainable growing practices and work with the Central Otago District Council to help more growers reduce waste and learn regenerative farming techniques.

Eden Orchards supports local agriculture to preserve local ecosystems and provide sustainable livelihoods for families, sponsor’s sports events and wellness festivals to encourage health and wellness, and organises educational events to promote sustainability and nutrition. They believe their cherry juice is not just a delicious drink, but also a way to support the health and well-being of the community and have recently donated 120 bottles to support Cyclone Gabrielle recovery efforts.

I was fascinated to learn about the many health benefits of drinking cherry juice – particularly that it can reduce inflammation and assist with sleep! This delicious cherry juice contains a whopping 2kg of cherries with absolutely no sugar or sweeteners added. It tastes delicious on its own and I love adding it to smoothies, too.
