Ethical
EcoNaps has a transparent 5 year working relationship with their nappy manufacturer in China. Their nappy manufacturer holds current certifications from globally recognised ethical third party auditors GOTS and SEDEX. This ensures employment is freely chosen (no forced labour) and there is no exploitative child labour. The factory commits to no excessive working hours and wages are 20% more than the local average wages.
Sustainable
EcoNaps reusable nappy is the first in the world to be Certified Plastic Neutral by Plastic Bank. 95% of all synthetics (both fabrics and components) featured in their products are from recycled sources. They aim to increase this to 100% by the end of 2023. Product swing tags and retail hangers are plastic-free and printed on 100% biodegradable and recyclable card stock. They choose sea freight over air freight to reduce our carbon footprint and ship in compostable mailers. Their Byron Bay office is run on hyper-local green energy. Their manufacturer is one of the few factories in China that utilises a solar panel energy system. It is also a leading China-based natural organic manufacturer. Furthermore they are dedicated to diverting waste from landfills and regularly donate discontinued stock to Upparel (an organisation that upcycles unused textiles). They are also working towards fulfilling all criteria required to become Bcorp certified by 2023.
Responsible
EcoNaps involvement with the Plastic Bank prevents plastic from entering our oceans while empowering vulnerable coastal communities. They work on a campaign basis to connect with a minimum of two charities per year. Supporting them through financial donations and via marketing exposure they have supported charities such as; Rainforest Rescue and Take 3 for the Sea. They regularly donate discontinued stock to Thread Together—an organisation that diverts clothing from landfills by redistributing it to people in need. They have also donated stock to families impacted by the Northern NSW floods. Furthermore they offer workplace flexibility, including flexible regular working hours and work-from-home options to ensure their workplace supports anyone with childcare responsibilities. Furthermore they are committed to representing diversity in race, age, shape and size when casting talent for photoshoots.

What our experts say...

I absolutely love EcoNaps, they have the most beautiful designs, soft inserts and are always reliable. I find the fit is great so I don’t experience leaks and the elastic is really gentle, and so is comfortable for babies. I love EcoNaps commitment to garment workers treatment and wages, as well that they are diverting nappies from landfill. This is something that is often neglected in the clothing industry and it’s great to see this initiative.

I love how well this nappy washes and how easy it is to fit on my baby. I find that the inserts are super absorbent too. I also love the idea behind the Plastic Bank, it’s amazing that this initiative helps keep the waterways free of plastic while also providing those in need with an income.
