This Deva Cacao two pack features organic medjool dates coated in raw dark cacao. Made with 100% raw ingredients, free from dairy, gluten, soy, refined sugar and artificial additives. Handcrafted with love, wrapped in certified compostable packaging and recycled card.

Deva Cacao uses mostly organic ingredients in their products, with the exception of bush honey and ground vanilla bean. They support a local bee farmer in a drought-stricken area of regional NSW for their honey, highlighting their commitment to local businesses and reducing food miles. Their cacao products come from a reputable Australian family business, Arrow Foods, which imports Certified Organic cacao products from Peru. They also use Certified Organic medjool dates from Israel. All chocolate production and packaging is done onsite at their facility in Tamworth, NSW, by the owner.
Deva Cacao supports sustainable farming practices by using organic ingredients in their products. They prioritise eco-friendly packaging, such as certified compostable NatureFlex bags for inner wrapping and recycled cardboard boxes for the outer layer. They also reuse materials like bubble wrap and padding and use recyclable packaging materials like cardboard box mailers and silver reflective cardboard boxes for deliveries. Additionally, they print marketing materials on recycled stock and give away any excess products to avoid food waste. Deva Cacao also uses eco-friendly packing tape, recycled printer paper and eco bin liners in their low-waste workplace practices.
Deva Cacao makes monthly donations to the Wheen Bee Foundation as part of their Business Buddies program to support research and education on bee health. They also donate products and funds to various charities and events, such as providing chocolate prizes to fundraisers like the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Ball and supporting wildlife conservation organisations like Save the Bilby Fund. In response to the endangered status of Koalas in NSW, Deva Cacao plans to launch a new chocolate product that will contribute to Koala Conservation. They prioritise using natural, minimally processed ingredients in their organic raw chocolate to provide a healthier treat for consumers with dietary restrictions.

These chocolate covered dates look and taste luxurious! The taste is smooth and nuanced, I love that it’s only sweetened with Australian Bush honey and the date itself, making it wholly satisfying. I’m impressed by the commitment to all natural ingredients and compostable/thoughtfully and beautifully designed, earth friendly packaging. This aspect of a small business can require significant time and investment so the brand’s commitment is commendable!
