They partner with an environmentally certified factory in Xiamen, China, chosen for their ethical workplace practices, bamboo specialism and environmental certifications. The manufacturing partner undergoes independent workplace audits and is certified Made Safe and Cruelty Free by SCA. Despite considering local manufacturing in Australia, Comfy Koalas found it more feasible to produce their complex bamboo nappies in China, enabling them to keep prices affordable and reduce their environmental footprint. The brand is based in Sydney and uses Forest Stewardship Council certified ingredients to support forest protection and Indigenous communities. Comfy Koalas is dedicated to reducing waste through their zero waste packaging approach. They have partnered with Cardia to create 100% certified home compostable packaging made from GMO-free corn starch, which can also be used for FOGO or nappy disposal. Out of all the nappies, these clever pull-ups became my little one’s firm favourite. She requested them by asking for her “koala nappy” which demonstrates how impactful the branding is. They performed beautifully, fit well and were clearly comfortable, based on her popular demand. We wondered where they had been her whole life! This brand is impressive from top to bottom! The big things like certifications and sustainability stats are all wonderful, but their level of philanthropy and a desire to give to the most vulnerable members of a community (babies in need!) is also so significant and commendable!

These nappies are incredibly soft and my little one loves the koala print. The pull up makes it easier for him to get his nappy on and off himself which he liked It really sounds like they have done a lot of research around their ethical values; I appreciate that this brand was able to find a factory which could meet their values but was still able to keep the cost down so many can still use these nappies!

I loved these nappies! My son didn’t get any skin irritation and no redness at all when using them and he is extremely sensitive. The materials felt very premium and you could tell they are super absorbent – no leaks! I love that they were made from premium bamboo fibre and are biodegradable, I was so impressed with their Aussie first – 100% certified home compostable packaging, I was impressed that they are the only Australian company that has done this!
