Busy Bee Blossom's Honey Argan Lip Balm is handmade in Summer Hill, NSW, Australia using ingredients mainly sourced from New Directions Australia. The country of origin for sweet almond oil, beeswax and honey is Australia, while cocoa comes from West Africa, shea butter from Burkino Faso and Argan Oil from Morocco. The brand emphasises ethical practices, ensuring no child labor is used in production and cruelty-free testing conducted by friends, family and locals. The brands founder has received training in cosmetic chemistry and natural skincare and maintains quality assurance through safe working methods and continuous learning about natural skincare.
Busy Bee Blossom's vision is to provide products that indulge the mind and body with ethically sourced ingredients that are gentle on both the body and the world. The packaging includes amber glass to keep products fresh and minimise oxidation, PET plastic bottles for bubble bath products and recyclable tins for travel tin candles and body balms. Ingredients are simple but effective, listed transparently on labels and the website, and sourced using organic farming methods to ensure they are free of chemicals and pesticides. The brand also focuses on sustainable practices such as using cardboard and paper packaging, reusing mailer packaging and creating products with sustainable reusability in mind, such as ceramics and washable face cloths. Australia Post satchels made from recycled plastic are used, with compostable mailer bags being considered for the future. Small batch production is also emphasised to ensure freshness and minimise wastage.
Busy Bee Blossom incorporates honey and beeswax into its lip balm, sourced from Australian suppliers like Bee Happy Apiaries in Western Australia, to support local businesses. The founder makes monthly donations to Exodus Foundation and the Bill Crews Charitable Trust, supporting Rev. Bill Crews' work in assisting disadvantaged individuals. Additionally, donations have been made to Frocking Hilarious in support of ActionAid Australia's women's rights initiatives, as well as to International Women's Day events in West Australia and Queensland. Products are also donated to fund raising efforts at Summer Hill Public School. Furthermore the brands face cloths are sourced from a supplier in South Africa, empowering women in small communities.

This Honey Argan Lip Balm feels moisturising and conditioning. It’s gentle and light on the lips and doesn’t have any “taste” which is great. It works best a when warmed up, but spreads easily once it is. The lip balm comes in a cute jar and as someone who tends to lose lip balm tubes, this is ideal! It works well as an overnight lip mask when multiple layers are applied. I also appreciated that the brand is making the effort to use local suppliers where possible and their commitment to using sustainable packaging gets the tick of approval from me!

I really love the smell of the balm – the honey is so strong and present, and it’s really easy to apply to my lips. It’s also long lasting and does prevent chaffing in this cold weather. I’m really impressed with Louise’s super local, community approach. The product is great, the packaging beautiful and like a true queen bee, she looks after the community with her business.
