Made from excellent, non-toxic materials. Pure Australian beeswax, organic coconut oil and pine gum, on GOTS certified organic cotton.
Ethical
Apiwraps works with a local family apiary in NSW for their beeswax supply. Any imported ingredients are certified organic and wild sourced. The cotton used to make the wraps is GOTS certified and all packaging is 100% recycled paper (Australian made locally) with vegetable ink printing. All of their waxing, cutting and packing manufacture occurs in Australia. Apiwraps feature and promote the licensed, properly contracted artwork of Australian artists.
Sustainable
Apiwraps are produced only with food ingredients and certified organic cotton, making them safe to compost at home. Shipping materials are made from recycled content and their office runs on renewable solar energy. All factory seconds are kept, sorted and listed for sale so that nothing goes to waste. Even the selvage trim utilised as fire starters. Textile core rolls go to a local preschool for craft projects.
Responsible
Apiwraps employ a team of young people to fold and pack products. For many of them it’s their first formal employment and they are supported and educated on their rights. This year Apiwraps have successfully brought their packaging on shore locally. The Nest project, currently underway, will be bringing their textile milling and printing on shore. Apiwraps is also bringing a team of migrant working women on board with limited language skills to offer them a flexible, supportive work environment.
