Eye of Horus Cosmetics – Second Skin Foundation

I love that this product is good coverage, has a flattering satin to dewy finish and the colours are great to work with! More high-performance, full coverage clean foundations are needed in the Australian clean makeup space and I felt this did an amazing job, a bit of a stand out product really! The fact that it has mineral sun protection is the icing on the cake – Love it! The Eye of Horus packaging is so thoughtful and they are moving more and more into sustainable options. I love that their ingredients are natural and organic while maintaining performance. I also love that they are moving into as close to natural as possible in terms of their ingredients.

Second skin by name and nature! This foundation is like my skin but better and is a beautiful, lightweight formula that creates a healthy, radiant complexion with the added bonus of SPF protection. I love that it is buildable, with one layer providing a light, natural coverage and a second layer (applied sparingly in the areas that I need it) providing medium coverage, disguising any blemishes and pigmentation. A great foundation for every day. I love that they have a refill option and recycling option in store and online to reduce landfill. I had the pleasure of visiting their showroom in Byron Bay and they make it easy to refill your favourites and also thoughtfully dispose of any empty beauty products.

This foundation glides onto the skin like a second skin— it’s super hydrating, long-wearing and it smells good enough to eat. I love that it gives sun coverage, too, I am impressed by Eye of Horus’s significant efforts to operate sustainably and produce locally.
